This typography project centers on a monogram developed from my initials and Chinese name. Designed in Adobe Illustrator, the mark explores balance between Western letterforms and Chinese character structure, translating personal identity into a cohesive typographic symbol.

The final design was printed using inkjet for personal distribution and identification, functioning as both a graphic study and a practical mark.

I brainstormed monogram ideas and played around with my initials "NH" and my Chinese name "然".

I had my peers and professor provide suggestions on a translucent tracing paper laid on top of my sketches to better visualize an improved monogram.

I finalized my monogram and began creating a digital mockup on InDesign, eventually adjusting it on Illustrator.

I created 2 compositions of the same design for feedback before going in and embellishing my design, honing in on Japanese arcade art styles as inspiration for my font and layout.
